Happy new year

We will go to Mass on Christmas Eve. Then we will spend Christmas day with Family and friends . In the evening we have a party and normally play poker.

MErry Christmas EVERYBODY IN THE SOS…

“Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year” to everybody in the SOS project. In our country family is a big part of the holiday. We go to Christmas Mass with our families and then we have dinner with them as well. Ireland’s traditional Christmas dinner consists of turkey, ham, stuffing, roast potatoes, turnips, carrots, mashed potatoes and gravy. Then for dessert we have Christmas pudding, cake and other little Christmas treats. We open our presents very early (5 am) with our close family (these are the presents from Santa Clause). Then after Christmas dinner we open the presents from the other family members such as aunties, uncles, grannies and grandads. That’s basically what we do at Christmas in Ireland.

“Merry Christmas” from Rachel Kedney. Firhouse Community College.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year to everybody involved in the SOS Comenius project.

In Ireland we celebrate Christmas with our family. Some large families do Kriskindle which is when each person buys a present for one person and that person can’t know who bought it for them. We get off school for nearly 2 weeks for Christmas. We have Christmas dinner which is always turkey and ham with all the trimmings!! For dessert we have Christmas pudding and Christmas cake. Afterwards dinner we pull Christmas crackers which bang and have a little treat inside. Presents are opened very early in the morning, normally when we wake up.
